Hello and welcome back to The Stone Soup Cook–so glad you’re here!
This week, I’m continuing my exploration of low-sodium cuisine. I’m happy to report that I’m surviving my low-salt experimentation and learning to appreciate the flavor of fresh ingredients even more than I used to. And the best part? I continue to lose weight at a rapid pace. It’s amazing what some simple changes in my diet have done. Of course it has included increasing my water intake to about 70 or more ounces of water a day which is…a lot. Anyway…
Today, I’m featuring a low-sodium recipe for grilled steak.

This is a recipe I developed while exploring options for a low-sodium diet, and it’s a keeper. This recipe does include some salt, but it comes by way of low-sodium soy sauce, which is a great ingredient for anyone trying to cut down on their sodium intake to have in their arsenal–it packs a lot of flavor with far less salt than other additives. And it’s as simple a recipe as you’ll ever find: lime juice, low-sodium soy sauce, smoked paprika, a steak and a grill. That’s it. Finished. Finito!
Cabernet sauvignon is the classic pairing with steak, and it’s delicious–but try a nice zinfandel with it–you never know–you might find a new favorite!
Join me again later in the week for another low-sodium recipe.
Until then,
Peace, love and good food,
Keri
