Hello and welcome back to The Stone Soup Cook! I’m glad you’ve tuned in for the final installment of “An Abundance of Birthdays!”
Today, I’ll be featuring the main course for my special birthday celebration meal and a tried and true, if somewhat untraditional, dessert to wrap up this memorable meal.
As you can see from the featured photo, the main course is steak–but not just any steak–steak au poivre–made in cast iron. This dish is delicious and surprisingly easy to make. And there’s only a little fire involved, I promise 😉 Oh–and the hands in the feature photo belong to my friend Paul, who enjoyed this dinner on a test run several weeks ago 🙂
OK–let’s get cooking!
First up is the delicious steak au poivre:

And for dessert, the delicious, if somewhat unconventional choice of cherry cobbler:

I hope you’ve enjoyed my birthday celebration dinner.
Tune in next week for a new product review of the Smithey 11″ deep skillet!
Until then,
Peace, love and good food,
Keri
