Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place sugar, soy sauce, garlic and ginger into a small sauce pan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly so as to help the sugar dissolve and not let it burn.

  1. Turn heat to low and gently simmer, stirring frequently, for about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let the sauce sit for a few minutes. It will thicken as it cools. When cool, add Mirin. Serve over salmon, chicken, steak or Asian noodles.

Note

I usually double or triple this recipe when I make it and store it in the fridge for a few days. It's great over all kinds of proteins--chicken, steak, salmon and over Asian noodles, hot or cold!
