Tomato Paste

Hello! I hope you’ve all had a great week!

My week has been super busy with getting my house back in order. We were finally able to get a contractor out to do the repairs on our house after that tree fell on it a couple of months ago. We’ve been painting and moving back into the house all week.

Instead of recipes, this week I’m featuring one of my favorite new product finds: tomato paste in a tube!

Let’s see a show of hands: how many of you have opened up a can of tomato paste, used 2 tablespoons of it for your recipe, carefully covered the can and put it back into your fridge, only to find it a couple of weeks later and throw it out. Everyone? Yep–I thought so.

Enter tomato paste in a tube! This is the greatest invention since sliced bread! Tomato paste in a tube allows you to squeeze out as much or as little as you want, replace the cap and put it back in the fridge for your next use. I have read that you can keep it indefinitely–I wouldn’t do that. But, I’ve had no problems with 3-4 weeks, which allows most of us to use it up before it goes bad.

There are several brands out there and they all seem to be pretty good. The one pictured is just the one I happen to have right now. I have been regularly able to find tomato paste in a tube at grocery stores all over, but in a pinch, you can even order it from Amazon.

Enjoy!

Peace, love and good food,

Keri

p.s. tune in next week when I’m going to be highlighting some fun and creative ways to cook for one!

p.p.s. I didn’t get compensation from any tubed tomato paste brand–I just like the product and want to pass it on 🙂
