Rosemary-Grapefruit Drop Cocktail

Hi and welcome back to The Stone Soup Cook–so glad you’re here on this gorgeous Saturday!

Today, I’ve just got a short post to wrap up my Biblical herbs week. I’m finishing up with this sensational cocktail–a rosemary-grapefruit drop cocktail. Rosemary is not specifically in the Bible, and neither is this cocktail. But…it’s absolutely delicious–and with summer coming up–it’s just perfect!

The cocktail is only three ingredients: Deep Eddy Grapefruit Vodka, rosemary simple syrup and lemon juice.

To make the rosemary simple syrup, combine 1 cup white sugar with 1 cup of water and a sprig of rosemary in a small pan:

Bring to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring frequently. The sugar will dissolve almost immediately–let the mixture reduce a little. You want it to turn into a thin syrup. It will take on a little of the color of the rosemary–just a tinge of green and it will be SUPER fragrant:

For the cocktail, combine:

1.5 oz Deep Eddy Grapefruit vodka

1.5 oz rosemary simple syrup

1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

Pour the ingredients into cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary and serve straight up or over rocks, as pictured.

Enjoy!

Tune in next week for more explorations on Biblical foods–

Until then,

Peace, love and good food,

Keri
